To Do:

Read over the class workbook. Understanding now how important it is to have open communication with parents. It not only helps your facility run smoothly, but it enhances the learning process of the children. Please generate an outline for a Parent Orientation meeting at your facility. If you do not hold group orientation meetings please develop a handout or parent information booklet with all the needed information included.

Please complete your meeting outline or handout & a summary on your computer and save it as assignment #1.

Read the five types of Family involvement from page 6 of your workbook. Write a short summary including two ways in which you can assist that each of these 5 involvements take place at your facility.

Please take some time to visit the websites listed at the "Study Links" page. Surf through these internet site to gather new ideas and information. Set a goal for parent involvement at your facility. Write a short summary of the top 3 websites you visited. List your parent involvement goals & how you would like parents to be educated.
