Read through the background information on Math Skills and assessment in your workbook. Using the study links for help, plan out 2 activities within the "Color Concepts", and 2 activities within the "Shape Concepts". These can be any skill gaining activity such as "I Spy", "Charting", "Feely Bag", or even "Color Hunts".

To make this class more meaningful it would be good idea to purchase a file box or notebook to store all your Pre-Math activities in. You will be much more likely to use and add to these lessons/activities if they are all in one place and organized.

Using the study links again create 5 activities that develop the "Classification Skills". You can use any of the categories; such as size, shape, color, or function.

At the simplest level you can do matching. The next level is sorting. From sorting children learn "sets", groups having the same property. From there multiple characteristic sorting can be used.

The next level of pre-math skills involve counting & numbers. Children must learn the one to one correspondence, and understand that numerals are symbols that represent numbers. Please develop 4 more activities that can help to teach or reinforce these two concepts.

The next group of pre-math concepts are all around us! These are the concepts of "Time", "Space", and "Size". Here comparison, and grouping skills, are needed as well as a clear understanding of each concept. Read through the class workbook and use any of the study links to help you in this area. Now develop one activity for each concept; Time, Space & Size.
